The Challenge:

Lighting Up Piccadilly Circus
GURUS and Reuters Media collaborated on a unique outdoor media project for Vodafone to deliver up-to-the-minute, headline news content onto a giant display screen in Piccadilly Circus.

The news content was to be displayed on an enormous, tri-colour LED screen, measuring 35ft in length and 2 ft in width. The news content combined a mixture of UK news, world news headlines, entertainment and sport.

The Solution:

Reuters Media provided the news content, delivered in a XML format. GURUS developed an application to filter, further refine and render the content for simple delivery to the client.
GURUS are also providing the hosting for the solution. The project is expected to run continuously during the three year media deal between the media buyer and Vodafone.

Collaboration
GURUS has a close working relationship with Reuters Media, which results in the company being kept updated on all of Reuters’ emerging technologies and market offerings, in relation to its content. This allows GURUS and Reuters to bring products and solutions to market much more quickly.
